Shania Skyy
Shania Skyy is from the Gila River Indian Community and is Akimel O’odham, Pee Posh, Tohono O’odham, and Pascal Yaqui. Shania has been helping raise funds for Diné Pride since 2018 with the Excuse Our Beauty Revue, Arizona’s only Indigenous Drag Show. She has been performing in the Phoenix area since 2013 and has competed in several pageants locally, and nationally in the USofA Newcomer System.
In 2014, Shania was crowned Miss National Capital Cities Plus and joined the Excuse Our Beauty Revue in 2015. She continues to work with the founding members to help raise funds and bring awareness to Native LGBTQIA+ issues.
Shania has been married for 5 years to her spouse, Leena Weebothee, who is from Zuni, New Mexico. They have two daughters and four grandchildren in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Bellingham, Washington. Shania and her spouse are both from the transgender community and are proud Indigenous trans women.
Shania for the past 15 years has worked in the Financial Print Industry. She spent 14 years with Browne & Co., which later was acquired by Donnelley Financial Solutions. She is now with Broadridge Financial Solutions. Prior to working in the financial print industry, she spent 10 years working in the Native American Gaming Industry in Arizona.
Miss New Mexico Pride 2022
Tomahawk Martini is from a small mountain town called Crystal, New Mexico, located in the Navajo Nation. She has done a lot of wonderful events in her life, from being a New Mexico State Champion for cross country & track, being showcased in two documentaries highlighting her high school career, and attending Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) on a running scholarship
Tomahawk is Miss Sidewinders 2018 and was selected as Mother of the Year, before being crowned Miss New Mexico Pride 2022. She always represents her Indigenous culture and takes pride in being Navajo, Cheyenne River Sioux, and Mexican.
Residing in Albuquerque since 2010, the city was her first experience with the LGBTQ community. Tomahawk dappled in drag in 2011 as a social setting queen and started performing on stage in 2016. A proud Drag Mother of three amazing individuals - Jade, Nova, and Avery Martini - she is the Creator and Co-Producer of the drag troupe Blackout.
Tomahawk Martini takes inspiration from Avant-garde fashion and concepts, and club kid references and mixes that up with her Indigenous culture and stories. She is a true advocate for Native LGBTQ+ communities across the country.
